Because we believe planning for the future is more than knowing the assets and liabilities on a ledger, we utilize a values-based, comprehensive process that looks at our clients’ goals, motivations, and dreams. What you want is primary, and we develop strategies to help you accomplish your goals. Whether you’re looking for education or retirement planning, or would like to discuss how to protect what you’ve accumulated through insurance or trusts, or perhaps leave a legacy and benefit your community through charitable giving, we’re here to advise. Sometimes that requires tough love, and we may not tell you what you want to hear, but rather what you need to hear to fulfill your objectives. Give us a call for a complimentary initial visit to learn more about a process that focuses on making your numbers work for you.
For many, a sound retirement strategy starts with an employer-sponsored plan. As fiduciaries, we work with businesses to identify the best plan for their company and its employees. At Sawston Wealth Management, we not only assist in creating start-up plans (including SEP and SIMPLE IRAs, 403(b) and 401(k) plans), but can also take over the advisory role in an existing plan. As the plan’s advisor, we provide plan trustee and employee education, financial advice, and investment selection and monitoring services. We utilize industry-specific analytic tools, and have a disciplined process for managing retirement plans.
A retirement plan can be a great strategy to help attract and retain the best employees in your field, and they are often simpler to start than business owners realize. Getting to know our clients’ objectives is the first step in building the right strategies. When will you need to start taking distributions from your accounts? What will keep you awake at night? Is there something you don’t want to invest in? All of these answers play a role in defining the right portfolio for you. But the process doesn’t end with creating a portfolio. Whether managing shorter-term cash needs, or providing retirement income to stretch for a long period of time, we use a disciplined process to regularly monitor and rebalance your portfolio to maximize current market trends or navigate around stormy waters.
As a Registered Investment Advisor, we are held to the fiduciary standard of care. This means we always have the best interests of our clients at the epicenter of every recommendation and action, and don’t put products or commissions ahead of what’s right for our clients. In addition, Colleen Gillespie is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary and prescribes to the four-step process of the Global Fiduciary Standards of Excellence and the Prudent Process for Investment Advisors to Organize, Formalize, Implement and Monitor investments under our care. We utilize analytic tools for monitoring the investments selected, to ensure they are appropriate and are the best in their class.
Recognizing that we live in a world where innovation and technology can be tools used within an advisory relationship, or a preferred means of doing business, we offer our clients the choice of working with a financial advisor in-person, or having their investments managed through our online platform: SawstonDirect.

WHICH SAWSTON WEALTH MANAGEMENT SERVICE IS BEST FOR YOU?
Transferring assets into a trust can be an important step for many people when thinking about legacy planning. The fiduciary and legal responsibilities associated with creating and maintaining a trust are often overwhelming to an individual trying to meet the expectations of the role of trustee, and hiring a corporate trustee often means giving up the option of working with a local, trusted financial advisor.
In order to give our clients the option of local investment management for trust assets, we offer a directed trust model to divide responsibility for trust management between Advisors Private Wealth Trust and Sawston Wealth Management, LLC. While Advisors Private Wealth Trust takes on the role of the trustee—managing the administrative tasks such as disbursements, taxes, statements, and bill paying, our local advisors continue to manage the assets in the way that best meets the trust’s goals. Advisors Private Wealth Trust works specifically with our custodian, TD Ameritrade Institutional, so your assets do not need to be relocated, and they have a national trust charter which allows them to support trusts situated in any state.
In 2013, Colleen Gillespie passed an extensive exam to become a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) with focused efforts in trust asset management, and to serve as an advisor to trustees. This credential, and subsequent hours of continuing education, covers the areas of fiduciary and trust laws, financial planning, taxation and tax planning for trusts, investment management, and ethics. As such, she is qualified to serve as an investment advisor in a role delegated by a trustee, or named as a Statutory Trust Advisor for managing the investments of directed trusts.
